Follow Me

The call is sharp and clear.

It is not based

on my circumstances or fears.

“How far?” I wonder;

the cost begins calculating,

straining my heart.

“Where will you take me?

What will I lose?”

“Follow Me.”

The call remains.

It is not based

on my shortsighted musings.

The call is rooted

in the One who calls.

The One who provides.

The One called Love.

The One who is gentle

and shepherds His sheep.

The One called Beginning and End.

The One who creates and sustains,

gives refuge and strength.

“Will you follow Me?”
